Job Description
We are looking to hire an experienced Events Operations Director as the strategic business leader of Event Management which covers, events program design, logistics, vendor management, talent management, registration and ticketing, events marketing, volunteer management, Event Management Technology, etc 

Responsibilities :
•	Develops an Event Management strategy that is aligned with the company’s business strategy and leads its execution
•	Develops companys’ annual cross-city portfolio of innovative, cutting edge and creative events experiences that is aligned with the company’s community engagement and growth strategy
•	Develops company’s annual cross-city event calendar 
•	Development venue research strategy and work with teams in the various cities to grow and manage the company’s venue partnership database for each city and secure venues for the various in-door and out-door events throughout the year
•	Develop cross-city staffing model and recruit event producers and other event staff 
•	Develop event management training curriculum and schedule for events staff that covers all aspects of events management
•	Manage event assets and supplies inventory and procure necessary supplies as needed. 
•	Grow and strengthen Afropolitan Cities relationships with African and Diaspora artists. Grow and manage Artist outreach database. 
•	Develop and grow vendor database. Build external relationship with vendors and negotiate prices
•	Develop event marketing strategy, develop a mix of marketing channels and work with marketing team to execute and tracking marketing analytics
•	Develop annual event budgets. Track and report event ROIs
•	Research and stay abreast with latest event management technologies as wells as Afropolitan Cities online event management system. 
•	Ensure exceptional customer service at events
•	Coordinate and spearhead team meetings for event team across the various cities

Requirements 
•	Bachelor’s degree as well as formal event and project management experience from an accredited university or program 
•	5+ years leading cross-functional teams or 3 or more years performing similar duties 
•	2-3 three years experience in budgeting 
•	Exceptions written and verbal communication skills
•	Demonstrates advanced interpersonal communication skills, and has excellent business writing and proofreading skills
•	Exceptional organizational skills 
•	Extremely detail-oriented, organized and methodical
•	Extremely resourceful with strong problem solving skills and sound judgement and discretion 
•	Excellent copywriting and copyediting skills
•	Previous experience building and managing artist relationships 
•	Highly technology savvy – Comfortable and skilled in  google docs, social media messaging, Microsoft suite apps, various project management technologies 
•	Able to meet tight deadlines and embraces constantly changing timelines and priorities
•	Ability to work to a tight schedule.
•	Ability to translate ideas into complete projects.
•	Ability take ownership & manage work independently 
•	Superior interpersonal skills 
•	Able and willing to work evenings and weekends (seasonally) and travel frequently (8-10 times a year)
