Meet The Team
Kweku Amoako
Founder & CEO
Afropolitan Cities was created as a result of Kweku's conviction that the enormous human and social capital wealth in the Diaspora cannot be harnessed for socio-economic development in the Diaspora and in Africa unless the cultural divide in the Diaspora is addressed. Hence in 2010, Kweku walked away from a thriving business consulting career to pursue avenues to galvanize and unite Diaspora communities through music and culture. He relaunched his career as a DJ and within two years became a cultural icon and one of the most sought after DJs in the US. Within the same time frame, he also launched DrumPulse Entertainment - A premiere transcultural and multimedia brand. DrumPulse develops partnerships with corporate brands to explore, build and grow underserved multicultural markets. The company creates win-win opportunities for communities and corporations through unique small and large scale cultural experiences.
Kweku is a business strategy and operations expert with over 12 years experience in management consulting for Accenture, JPMorgan, Sprint, Astrazeneca and other fortune 500 companies. Adept at transforming corporate organizations and communities through strategic planning and community empowerment, shaping cultural trends, building transcultural brands, developing and growing new markets and driving revenue growth in various industries including the media, IT, communications and entertainment industries. Results oriented leader with proven track record of building and empowering high performing cross-functional teams and leading the execution of product and operational strategy in startup and corporate organizations.
